Hollyn Swider

LCSW, REAT, EXAT

  • Glad you made it here! My name is Hollyn Swider and I am an Indianapolis Midtown mama of two, wife, licensed clinical social worker and registered expressive arts therapist.

Life comes with challenges, and sometimes, a little extra support can make all the difference. Whether you're a parent worried about your child, a teen feeling overwhelmed, or a mom trying to juggle it all, you don’t have to go through it alone.

With experience in schools, hospitals, primary care, and outpatient settings, I’ve worked with individuals and families from all walks of life. I understand that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why I offer a flexible, personalized approach—blending traditional therapy with creative modalities for those who find self-expression through art, music, writing, or movement.

For parents, I provide compassionate guidance to help your child navigate emotions, manage behavior, and build resilience—so your home can feel more peaceful. For teens, I offer a safe, judgment-free space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and develop tools to handle stress, relationships, and life’s pressures. And for moms, I create a supportive environment to help you manage anxiety, find balance, and reconnect with yourself—because taking care of your well-being is just as important as caring for everyone else.

My own relationship with creativity has ebbed and flowed throughout my life. I’ve learned that creativity can be a resource, teacher, guide, facilitator, ally, challenger, and friend—offering new ways to process emotions, gain insight, and grow. If a creative approach resonates with you or your child, we can explore how self-expression can be a powerful tool in your healing journey.

No matter where you are in your journey, I’m here to listen, support, and help you move forward.

  • Every person’s journey is unique, which is why I tailor therapy to fit your specific needs. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches to help you or your child build resilience, navigate challenges, and find lasting relief.

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Helps identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, making it especially useful for managing anxiety, stress, and negative self-talk.

    • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – Encourages self-understanding by exploring different “parts” of yourself, helping to heal past wounds and develop self-compassion.

    • Expressive Arts Therapy – Uses creative outlets like art, music, or movement to explore emotions, process experiences, and foster healing in a nonverbal way.

    • Solution-Focused Therapy – Focuses on strengths and practical solutions, helping you or your child build confidence and create meaningful change.

    • Motivational Interviewing – Supports personal growth by helping you tap into your own motivation and values to make positive changes.

    • Attachment Theory – Explores how early relationships shape emotions and behaviors, helping to improve connection and emotional security in relationships.

Whether you’re looking for a structured approach, creative expression, or a mix of both, we’ll work together to find what best supports your goals.

  • Going on walks, family movie nights, shopping, reading, golf, and being creative!
